back in the day when i was contracting all over the shop it was the employers discretion as to which superfund they contributed to…. this decision was generally made on a golfcourse with no regard to what was best for the employee.
anyway - as a result i have about 15 different super funds which i should have consolidated years ago…. because i can’t access the money for another 30 years (that’s 30 years based on current laws - watch the age increase over the next 30 years) i wasn’t overly motivated to sort it all out.

eventually my mother’s hassling pushed me over the edge and i decided to clean it all up. this is where findmysuper.com.au comes in - they offer a service where for $55 they go and find ALL your super accounts and roll them all into whichever fund you nominate. perfect i thought.
click through the spam, put in all my details, and the final prompt says “searches will take 5-6 weeks”. i did notice they debit my credit card for the $55 straight away - a bit cheeky i thought but i was just happy to have it sorted.

so today it has been 6 weeks and i havent heard anything - so i ring them up and some indian call centre drone informs me that i havent returned the paperwork (WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED!) so nothing has been done.

indian call centre drone informs me that the paperwork would have been posted to me - i tell him that i receive a lot of mail and that i definitely received NOTHING from them. he tells me it’s ok, he’ll email it to me now. WHY COULDNT YOU JUST EMAIL IT IN THE FIRST %$#@$!@ PLACE?!?!?!
i ask him if anyone thought to send me an email or perhaps call me to ask where the paperwork was - he tells me that until the paperwork is received they won’t do anything. at this point i realised that it’s true what they say about arguing with idiots - they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

so now i have to fill in this form and email it back to them - and then wait another 6 weeks for the searches.

i no longer have a lawn - i have a tightly woven fabric of weeds. if we weren’t on stupidity factor 2 water restrictions i could weed n feed…. level 2 means i can water on a full moon when pluto is in the furtherest sector of its orbit.

so after 6+ months of these water restrictions - most people’s yards are trashed. but not the ipswich city council!

about 10am today i saw a council water truck….. idling along in the left hand lane - sprinkling water onto the council roadside gardens. the sprinkler head was slopping water everywhere - half of it was going on the road, AND theyre watering at what is supposedly an inefficient time of the day.

brisbane city council give you a $500 rebate if you install a 1000l or bigger water tank - ipswich city council give you $150.

ipswich - we’re waterwise.

this weekend im cat sitting at mungaHQ.. next wednesday i have to go into the office for a 4hour love session - other than that im at a loose end for the next few weeks.

what to do…..

bike license?
more work on the mq?
buy a shed?
backyard blitz the yard?
drive west until the pubs run out of beer?

or perhaps i can just make friends with the couch and the foxtel box
